G'day, how's it going mate? Today, I am going to talk about the way in which the plural form such as noun's -s sound could be enunciated properly. Although many English learners tend to think that I am pronouncing -s sound properly, Chrome Browser, one of the most prominent AI-based voice recognition websites, does not catch your -s sound, which is mystified, right? Let's discuss this a bit further.
The reason why Chrome Browser, for instance, does not recognise your -s sound is that simply you are not pronouncing it in a correct manner in the first place. If you don't have any issue regarding this sound, then this is nothing to you. However, if you are struggling to pronounce -s sound or you think I am enunciating it but Chrome Browser does not recognise me, then please read my blog and try to get the hang of my easiest method. Well, first of all, I reckon many of you guys might have some problems in terms of "ts"or "tes" sounds, right? As you can see, the end of the word is "t", such as Cat, Plant, Product, Test, Context, etc. When you are pronouncing these "t" sounds, definitely air comes out from your mouth, right? In contrast, in case of these nouns' plural version like Cats, air does not come out from your mouth. This is a fundamental difference between "t" and "ts".
Then, how could we improve this "ts" sound? One of the easiest methods I can think of is to pronounce the Japanese hiragana starting from ta, tchi, tsu, te, to without air not coming out from your mouth. I do understand how hard it is for some of you guys; however, this might be the best of the best method to improve your -ts sound. Can I just elaborate how you should be practising this? Look, to put it simply, you should just prepare a piece of tissue paper in front of your mouth, then start pronouncing ta, tchi, tsu, te, to with no air's out. If you are mispronouncing it, then of course the tissue paper is swinging, right? This practice is not that tough, so everyone can surely do. Don't give up until you make it!
Let me wrap it up what I said today. I wasn't saying everyone does make this mistake, but not easy to detect whether you are mispronouncing -ts sound or not, so you've got to make sure that you use Chrome Browser checking this sound, in particular using the Japanese hiragana ta, tchi, tsu, te, to without air not coming out from your mouth. This training is, I believe, one of the best ways to fix plural nouns' -s sound impeccably.
