Hi guys, how are you doing? I want to talk about my experience happened earlier this morning. I had to go to one of the PCR Covid-19 testing centres. Last night, I just went to bed as usual at 10pm, and my wife was checking the ACT COVID-19 official website at around 11pm, and then she realised that we went to our nearby local shop on 14th August 2021 at 4:45pm. Unfortunately and unexpectedly, this place has newly been added as one of the casual exposure locations. And, the time specified at the details of the exposure location and time was precisely matched with our check-in time. Therefore, we had no choice but to get tested immediately and be in quarantine until the negative result can be issued. We became nervous about its circumstance. So, we couldn't really sleep after that, and for myself I realised that I will have to cancel my ZOOM GROUP LESSON, which will be taken place this morning. And, I did some paper work including sending emails until 6am. Oh my it was nightmare.
The testing centre we went to was already packed with heaps of visitors waiting even before the opening time. Although we tried to get to the place 30 mins prior to the opening time, we ended up waiting for our turn for approximately 5 hours. And, we had to wait outside, during which the temperature was -2 degrees. It was so harsh, but there were couple of SES (Security staff) members kindly taking enquiries, supplying a bottle of water with snacks, escorting prioritised customers such as pregnant mothers, mothers carrying babies as well as physically-handicapped persons, etc. I really appreciate that staff carrying out their important tasks. Anyway, at first, it seemed that it wasn't supposed to be that long queue; however, due to a higher number of prioritised customers coming, normal customers including us had to wait much longer than everyone had expected. In the end, however, everything was smoothly done once our turn came. It was such a bloody long morning, mate.
The PCR test result will be issued in 24 to 48 hours. I hope I won't see a positive result for both of us. We keep our fingers crossed.
As for my teaching work, I will come back to normalcy from tomorrow. I'd like to apologise to everyone affected by the unforeseen cancellation of my ZOOM GROUP LESSON. I'll see you all on this Friday morning!
Have a great day, everyone.
